Why is Foster Care important ?

The primary purpose of foster care is to provide a safe and stable environment for a child who cannot be with his or her parents for some reason. To provide normalcy, guidance and essential tools to children to help them prepare for society.

What it takes to Foster ?

Fostering requires adults to be 21 years of age and able to pass a criminal background check, in addition to being open minded, dependable, patient and caring.

About the Children
According to the most recent data, there are currently more than 400,000 children in foster care ranging from infants to 21 years of age. All of these children have experienced loss and some form of trauma and are learning to grow in a stable environment. The average child remains in foster care approximately a year and in most cases reunifies with the parents and/or family.
